Sunset chaser

It’s been a week or so since I came back from the humid and hot Philippine (is)land(s) and I couldn’t wait to talk about one of the best choices of the trip: The BirdHouse.

The BirdHouse is a self entitled Glamping Experience, and whether or not you are acquainted with the term Glamping, you need to hear this one out cause I’m here to talk about food.

Apart from the breathtaking view of the beach, the close nature interaction, the amazing sunsets and of course the experience of spending a night at a Glam tent that they call Nests, The BirdHouse offers one of the best food we had in the Philippines.

I have to say I completely fell in love with their food and me and my husband ate there EVERY SINGLE DAY / night of our stay, simple because they offer you #millionreasons to stay or (again) the best food in the Island.

They have a well thought out menu, with choices in traditional local food and some classic western dishes as well. I wish I had taken a picture of their menu, but bear with me, I was on vacation!

Me and my husband tried about 10 different dishes and every single one was made with extreme care, fresh local ingredients (their chef knows how to work with what’s available without compromising the dish) and the result was always a light, healthy and flavourful meal.

They have lots of vegetarian dishes, and I can’t forget to mention there were also rather decent choices of wine which is definitely a plus. Water and ice are trustworthy (believe me this is a real problem in The Philippines overall).

And of course I dare not to forget the lovely table they have settled outside so you can have a lovely meal with a wonderful view. An absolute must do.

Our favourites were: Vegetarian Burger (really outstanding, we had it twice), Warm Quinoa Salad With Tahini Sauce (extremely good stuff bro) Bruschetta, and the Chocolate Brownie that was a-bsolute cocoa richness.

The Birdhouse el nido

So if you’re planning a trip to El Nido, you have to check out this wonderful place, if not to spend a night to indulge some good food at lunch or dinner, If memory doesn’t fail, they accept visitors for lunch, and dinner that has to be ordered before 8:30pm.
