The other day I was walking in the supermarket, wondering what would I cook for dinner and then I  as I was passing the fish counter, I noticed these lovely Trouts from the Belgian Ardennes . Since I love fish, I thought I should give them a try.

This was the first time I cooked whole fish by myself, and I can assure you it’s VERY easy (once they’re cleaned and gutted of course) and the trouts are ready to serve in only 15- 20 min, which also means it’s a very fast option to cook! The presentation of this dish is great and I can assure you , everybody is going to be impressed.

Okay. First of all I have to come clean here and admit I know NOTHING about wine. Nevertheless I still want to share here my findings in wine and what I’ve been learning with the help of vivino.

All I know about wine so far was more or less based on trying, but I have to say that  after I was introduced to the app Vivino I’ve been able to track what are my tastes and what types of wine/grape I’m drinking more, that among many other features the app offers… But anyways if you’re a wine enthusiast but kinda lazy (all the terms can be overwhelming for newbies) I would encourage you to download this app.

But moving on to the wine itself, it’s a Portuguese Douro Red from Northern Portugal and the grape is 100 % Touriga Nacional.

Okay, I love these cookies!!! Yes they’re low carb, made with sweetener, but these can fool anyone if you don’t tell them what’s in there! Yes, I know. 2017  has just started and everybody is thinking about dieting. But since I began the year rather sick, I haven’t started a diet myself and thought I could indulge this lovely cake and give in to my sugar craving.

It’s a simple cake to make with easy to find ingredients. Buttermilk is the key to how moist this cake is, and although you might finish mixing the batter thinking it’s not liquid enough, let it be! Buttermilk will work its magic. Also make sure butter and egg are room temperature cause this is usually a game changer for every cake you bake!

That being said , my last advice is : Don’t forget to save a few pieces for breakfast, this cake is a great option to start out the day!
