The recipe only requires a few ingredients and it is 100% vegan. Go ahead and give it a try. I’m sure you won’t regret!

  • 30 whole pitted dates
  • 2/3 roasted almonds
  • 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 cup of shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 1tbsp. coconut oil
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place almonds in a food processor; process until finely ground.
  2. Add dates; process until finely ground.
  3. Add the rest of ingredients and pulse until combined then check if the mixture is firm enough to form the balls .
  4. Scoop about 2 teaspoons cocoa mixture with a spoon, and roll into a ball.

Traditional Brazilian Flan

Sweetened Condensed Milk Flan | www.notafoodexpert.com

This Brazilian recipe is extremely popular and traditional. You can easily find it in a restaurant or sitting on the table of a Brazilian family after that Sunday lunch. It also happens to be my older brother’s favourite dessert and whenever I’d make it at home, it would quickly disappear!

There are few reasons why it is so popular: it requires only a few simple ingredients, which makes it inexpensive, it’s extremely easy to make (you can mix it all at once in a blender) and finally satisfies that sweet tooth we all have now and then.

Orange Cake With Buttercream Frosting

Orange Cake | www.notafoodexpert.com

So, it’s blood orange season and I was super excited to buy some and make one of these awesome cakes you see on the internet. But, the thing is: the blood oranges I bought weren’t that bloody, if you know what I mean. Their shade wasn’t as “red” as we usually see out there, but it can happen. Guess I wasn’t lucky this time but I wouldn’t give up on my original idea and made an orange cake anyways, but with the bloody oranges I already had.

Protein Pancakes

Protein Pancake| www.notafoodexpert.com

I love the thick  fluffy american pancakes, but I reach out to this healthy option of Protein Pancake much more as they are as delicious and 10 times faster to prepare. Not to mention these are filled with fibres and no sugar added, they are really delicious and in a few minutes you have a healthy, diet proof  breakfast!

Double Belgian Chocolate Brownie

Double Belgian Chocolate Brownie | www.notafoodexpert.com

Brownie is probably one of my favourite chocolate desserts! I’ve made this recipe so many times after I found the recipe at Technicolor Kitchen , that at one point in the past I knew it by heart! It is a fail-safe recipe made with cocoa powder and this time I decided to add some chunks of Belgian white and milky chocolates to make it extra decadent! And the good news is that they remain with that crispy , crackly top that everybody wants in a brownie.

Low Carb Almond Cookies

Low Carb Almond Cookies | www.notafoodexpert.com

Okay, I love these cookies!!! Yes they’re low carb, made with sweetener, but these can fool anyone if you don’t tell them what’s in there! They are crispy and buttery, with a hint of dark chocolate… When you can have those healthy and delicious cookies I see no pain in going healthy! Trust me on this one and run to the kitchen to make a batch, and all I hope is that you can resist not eating them all at once!

Chocolate Mousse Delight

Chocolate Mousse Delight | www.notafoodexpert.com

I don’t think I need to go on about how timeless  and classic this dessert is! It suits all occasions be it a PMS crisis, a romantic dinner or a family lunch. We can easily spot a chocolate mousse as the elected dessert. Maybe that’s why we see so many versions of this recipe out there and I have tried myself, many, many of them. And one by one, they failed to reach the greatness and of this simple recipe I came across.

Because in all honesty this is as simple as it can get. So leave all the big recipes list aside and come give this one a try. I’m sure this one won’t let you down.

Buttermilk Blueberry Cake

Buttermilk Blueberry Cake | www.notafoodexpert.com

Yes, I know. 2017  has just started and everybody is thinking about dieting. But since I began the year rather sick, I haven’t started a diet myself and thought I could indulge this lovely cake and give in to my sugar craving.

It’s a simple cake to make with easy to find ingredients. Buttermilk is the key to how moist this cake is, and although you might finish mixing the batter thinking it’s not liquid enough, let it be! Buttermilk will work its magic. Also make sure butter and egg are room temperature cause this is usually a game changer for every cake you bake!

That being said , my last advice is : Don’t forget to save a few pieces for breakfast, this cake is a great option to start out the day!
